The EBP Project

In the spring term 2010 West Sussex EBP obtained a small amount of funding to run a project on sustainable enterprise education for primary schools. The project aimed to test a range of approaches to primary enterprise education and develop model(s), guidance, resources and Continuing Professional Development to support schools to develop sustainable models for delivering primary enterprise education.

19 primary schools participated in the project. Four learning providers delivered programmes, each using a different approach.

The EBP bespoke work showed schools were already delivering much of the enterprise capability strand in their normal teaching.  They realised how easily enterprise activities could be integrated into the curriculum.

There are two main enterprise approaches – bought-in provision and/or development of own bespoke programmes - with different considerations for each.  Schools need to decide what strategy best meets their needs.

The project enabled the development of a small number of enterprise resources to start to meet the need identified by schools.
