Battle of the Baguettes

After spending the morning preparing and packaging their sandwiches, students had to sell them at the Arun Business Partnership's Getting to Know You event being held in Butlins Conference Centre.  One exhibitor, Matthews 4 Catering Ltd of Rustington, couldn't speak highly enough of the way students approached prospective customers, offering high levels of customer service and their persuasive selling techniques - in fact, they bought a sandwich from each of the students!
 
The overall winner was Laura James from The Littlehampton Academy with her creation of Sicilian Chicken on Wholemeal (chicken, red pesto, basil and lettuce).  Judges comments were very complimentary “Laura has shown all round entrepreneurship - she's organised, carried out market research beforehand, provided excellent customer service and of course, made a tidy profit”.
 
As part of her prize, Laura's sandwich will be sold within the Skyline food outlets and Butlins staff restaurant. 

All three finalists were invited to the Arun Business Partnership Awards in October to receive their prizes, sponsored by Kittiwake Developments Ltd and Business Link.
